My name is Kristina and started this website – Cure Hyperhidrosis – to help people like you who are suffering from excessive sweating.

I suffered from hyperhidrosis for most of my life.  Specifically sweating of my hands and armpits!   My excessive sweating of the palms (palmar hyperhidrosis) was so bad that I couldn’t even drive because my hands would sweat so much!

When I did drive, I would have to wear gloves and turn the vents towards my armpits to dry them. :(

I would always have to wear dark colored clothes when I went out so people wouldn’t see the sweat marks on my armpits.  Hyperhidrosis was ruining my life!

What is Hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis, in simple terms, can be defined as overly active sweat glands stimulated by the sympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system. This is the part of the nervous system, which is responsible for releasing perspiration throughout the body.

This is the body’s natural method of cooling itself down during active periods (such as exercise) or exposure to warm conditions. A person with hyperhidrosis experiences uncontrolled sweating and/or blushing.

Those who suffer from this condition are faced with major challenges every day.

How Hyperhidrosis Can Affect Someones Life

During everyday life people quite often encounter others and are expected to interact socially. A handshake or brief conversation can seem relatively harmless, but in essence provides a firm first impression of another person.

Often people are judged based on a first impression. A cold, wet, clammy handshake can sometimes be perceived as a sign of insecurity or uneasiness. Excessive and uncontrollable facial sweating or blushing may make a person appear to be nervous or a bit suspicious. This can be very detrimental during a job interview or important meeting. Ultimately, this can even hinder one’s career path or relationship status.

Individuals suffering from hyperhidrosis are often labelled antisocial or even reclusive, which is exactly what happened to me.

At one point my hyperhidrosis was so bad that I had to stop going to lunch meetings with clients because I was sweating too much!  I often had multiple sets of clothing at work so I could change throughout the day.  My co-workers all thought I was nuts!

During this period I also stopped dating and stayed at home a lot.  I had to take two showers a day and applied antiperspirants multiple times a day.  Nothing worked.

My main trick is this. LIVE with it. In foreign situations it can be difficult however, there are a few ways I deal. Go to the store at a less busy hour. Dont choose to get in line when the line’s at it’s worst, take an extra lap down aisle 5. lol Some people use music, others have a cloth to dry their hands. I’ve do them all.

At work and at home you’re with Friends and Family, so they either already noticed, or haven’t noticed at all. Either way they should at worst have a chuckle, then continue to love you anyways. (If they don’t they are missing out on many more angles of life I promise you that). PLUS, So what if people know you sweat, there are times you don’t sweat too. Sweating won’t stop them from laughing at a funny joke you made, or appreciating your help working on next weeks presentation. They key is being able to function happily. The depression only makes things worse, the happiness makes feeling comfortable more frequent, and shows to peopl, “hey this thing isn’t getting to me….no sweat.” =)

hi, i am only 13 and i suffer from really bad hyperhidrosis, and people don’t understand that there is nothing wrong with me that it’s just sweat. Does this book actually work ? xxx

i have a book and it does help with your underarms but not for your hands it has nothing in the book about your hands so im still trying to cure my hands from sweating
